IBX (official name: IBX Business Network) is part of the Capgemini Group. Established in Sweden in 2000, and acquired by Capgemini in 2010, the IBX Business Network supports large and medium sized organizations by providing procurement expertise through consulting, operational and strategic procurement services based on IBX Business Network Cloud-based platform technology. The IBX Business Network connects over 250 large buying organizations, 550 000 suppliers and provides services in more than 100 geographies. The IBX Business Network is a Cloud-based, ERP independent, e-Procurement platform that provides an optimized UI. The platform has built in spend management tracking, through automated invoice management and order validation functionalities. Additionally, it is designed to leverage an organization's existing procurement investment, as it can be added onto any existing ERP to increase usability of the system. The aim of the system is simplify the procurement process, and allow for entire organizations to get involved in the process. The rationale is that by enabling all stakeholders involved in the procurement process users become more compliant. This theoretically transforms the traditional procurement department's role from policing compliance to imparting strategy throughout the procurement process. With a focus on automation and enabling supplier on boarding and catalogue management, it aims to lower total cost of ownership, by decreasing unnecessary support inquiries, shortening the procurement process and making it much more transparent for all stakeholders. The IBX Business Network is part of Capgemini’s Business Process Outsouring portfolio. It is sold as a complete ready-to-run procurement service that supports the entire closed-loop Source-Purchase-Pay process.
